Assam is situated on the river of Brahmaputra of Northeast India and it is the largest state of India. It is one of the most developed states in the North East as it is been blessed with one of the main sources of its revenue. Assam, as it is blessed with natural resources and became very much accessible to the North East and was the reason why it has been ruled for six centuries by the brave Ahoms(Shyam tribal of Burma). General Information

Best time to visit: October to April.

The culture of Assam is a rich textile infused with multicolored yarns of distinguished heritage of all the races that populate her. Bihu is the most famous agricultural festival of the Assam. Assam has a large number of colorful festivals of its own replete with fun, music and dances.

There are different varieties of fishes and rice that are used for cooking. Exotic food contains a dish called Eri Polu; it is the pupa of Eri silkworm and fermented bamboo shoot.

Climate: The temperature never goes beyond 35°C - 38°C even in the summer months. Climatically the year may be divided into the cold season and the rainy. The cold weather lasts from October to February and the rest of the year is rainy.

How to Reach

By Air: The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi is the nearest international airport of Guwahati which is linked by air to almost all of the metros in India.

By Road: There is a big network of National Highways connecting entire cities of state with all the major states in country. Government of Assam runs Assam State Transport Corporation for providing convenient transport facilities to visitors here.

By Rail: It is linked to all parts of country through Rail. For visiting Assam you can avail train services from Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Trivandrum and Cochin.

Day 1: (Delhi Arrival)

On the arrival at the Delhi IGI airport you will reach Delhi and will be accompanied to the hotel that has been booked in advance. After reaching hotel you can go sightseeing tour in Delhi like go for historical places, shopping in Chandi Chowk etc. After enjoying the day you will return back the hotel for the
overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: (Delhi - Guwahati)

After having breakfast you will go for Guwahati. You will check into the hotel Guwahati. After refreshment you can see sightseeing of the Guwahati. And then you can go for Cherrapunjee for see the Pillar Rock, Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 3: (Guwahati - Shillong)

In morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Shillong which is beautiful hill station with snow capped mountains and outstanding sightseeing spots. Later at night dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Guwahati.

Day 4: (Shillong - Tezpur - Kohor)

After breakfast you will go for Tezpur and then Kohor to see the Nameri National Park. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 5: (Kohor - Jorhat)

After breakfast you will go for Tezpur and then Kohor to see the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 6: (Jorhat - Delhi)

Last day you will return back to Delhi.
