Best time to visit: September to March.

Culture: Tripura can be termed as a 'laboratory' of exotic cultural synthesis. Tripura, quite off the beaten track, is a storehouse of tribal crafts and culture as well as music and dancing. The tribal people follow their customs and religion with the highest regard. Bengali is spoken and understood by more than 50% of the state’s population. Hinduism is the most practiced religion in Tripura. Garia and Hia Hak are the most famous dance of Tripura.

Food: Rice and Fish are the special ingredients. People like non vegetarian food more than vegetarian food Pork, chicken, mutton, beef, turtle, fish, prawns, crabs, and frogs are consumed profusely by the non-vegetarians. Some of the traditional Tripuri delicacies are Chakhwi, Mwkhwi, and Muitru

How to Reach

By Air: Kolkata and Guwahati are the nearest airports of the Tripura. Kolkata is well connected with all major cities in India and abroad.

By Road: There are many road routes to reach Agartala from Kolkata and Guwahati. Taxi facilities are the best option to come by road to Agartala.

By Rail: The Nearest railway stations are Kumarghat- 160 kms and Dharama Nagar- 200 kms. It is connected with Lumding & Guwahati which are connected with the major stations.

Itinerary

Duration: 7 Days/6 Nights

Places to visit: Delhi - Kolkata - Agartala - Jamphai Hill - Neermahal - Matabari - Dumboor Lake - Agartala - Kolkata - Delhi

Day 1: (Delhi Arrival)

On the arrival at the Delhi IGI airport you will reach Delhi and will be accompanied to the hotel that has been booked in advance. After reaching hotel you can go sightseeing tour in Delhi like go for historical places, shopping in Chandi Chowk etc. After enjoying the day you will return back the hotel for the overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: (Delhi - Kolkata - Agartala)

After having breakfast you will go for Kolkata. Then you will go for Agartala. Check into the agartala Hotel. You can visit some tourist destinations which are near to your hotel. You will stay in hotel.

Day 3: (Agaratala - Jamphai Hill)

In morning after breakfast you will see the Lake Kamalsagar and Jamphai hill. This lovely is located atop a hill and offers panoramic view of the surroundings. You can as well go to the Kali temple which dates back to 16th century. Overnight stay will be at Jamphai Hill.

Day 4: (Jamphai hill - Neermahal)

After breakfast you will go for Tezpur and then Kohor to see the Nameri National Park. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 5: (Neermahal - Matabari)

After breakfast you will go for Neermahal which is located in the district of Udaipur. Visit the lovely Pudrasagar Lake. It is the only water place in eastern India situated in the midst of the Pudrasagar Lake. Later in the day, go to Matabari where you can see the temple of Tripurasundari or Matabari. You will overnight stay in Matabari.

Day 6: (Matabari - Dumboor Lake - Agartala)


After breakfast you will go to see the Dumboor Lake and then you are free for shopping. You will return to Agartala. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 7: (Agartala - Kolkata - Delhi)

After breakfast you will return to Kolkata from Agratala and then take the flight to Delhi.
