Bandhava Garh National Park

The Hindu Lord Rama gave the most prominent hillock of the area to Lakshmana to keep his eye on the Lanka,so we called it Bandhava Garh which means Brother’s fort. This wild life park derived its very name from an ancient fort in the area Bandhava Garh. Bandhav Garh National Park is one of the popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh was declared a national park in 1968. The national park is situated at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur. Bandhawgarh National Park belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges. This park has highest density of tiger. It is also known as white tiger country. Bandhavgarh National Park, the most fascinating park in India is surrounded by the flora and fauna.

General Information

Best time to visit: February-June

Flora: Stretches of bamboo and grasslands extend to the north of the forest. Sal, Saj,Dhaora Tendu, Arjun, Amla, Palas, Salai, Camar, Dhaman, Mango, Jamun, Bamboo etc.

Some important Fauna are as follows:

Reptiles: Indian Mud or Flap- shell Turtle (Lissemys punctata), Northern House Gecko (Hemidactylus flaviviridis), Fat - tailed Gecko(Eublepharis macularius), Common Garden Lizarde(Calotes versicolor),Forest calotes(Calotes rouxi), Common Skink(Mabuya carinata), Common Indian Monitor(Varanus bengalensis).

Mammals: Jungle Cats, Hyenas, Ratels, Porcupines, Leopard or Panthe, Tiger, Wolf, J ackal, Indian Fox, Dhole or Indian Wild Dog, Striped Hyaena, Sloth Bear etc.

Birds: white browed fantails, steppe eagles, green pigeons, grey malabar hornbills, black and white malabar hornbills (quite a rare sighting),blossom headed parakeets, parakeets, blue bearded bee eaters, green bee eaters, white bellied drongos, owls, jerdon's ,gold fronted leaf birds, minivets, woodshrikes and the lovely paradise flycatchers.

How to Reach

By Air: Khajuraho is the nearest airport from the park. Fly from Delhi, Agra or Varanasi to Khajuraho and drive to Tala Park which is the entrance at Bandhav Garh.

By Rail: Umaria is the nearest railway station after Katani railway station; from there it is about 40 minutes drive to Nature Heritage. Alternatively, take the overnight train from Delhi to Umaria and drive to the park. Only jeeps are available for transfers Khajuraho / Bandhavgarh.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

On arrival at the airport our representative will receive you, and transfer you to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi

Early morning after breakfast full day city sightseeing tour Old Delhi & New Delhi, Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03: Delhi - Agra

Morning after breakfast sightseeing tour of Delhi and also visit the malls and some valuable places. In the afternoon drive to Agra on arrival check in at hotel. Stay Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Agra - Umaria

Visit Taj Mahal including Sikandara, Akbar's tomb. In the afternoon transfer to the railway station time to board train for Umaria. Overnight on board.

Day 05: Umaria -Bandhavgarh

On arrival Umaria meet with our representative and transfer to the Forest resort. Morning free to relax, in the afternoon we will take you for the safari into the national park. Stay Overnight at Forest resort.

Day 06: Bandhavgarh national park.

In morning enjoy Jeep or elephant safari to the national park. Stay Overnight at resort.
Day 07: Bandhavgarh national park

In morning and evening Jeep or elephant safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Stay overnight at resort.

Day 08: Bandhavgarh national park

Morning and evening drive into the national park for wilderness experience. Stay overnight at resort.

Day 09: Bandhavgarh

In Early morning after breakfast an excursion to the Bandhavgarh fort.

Day 10: Delhi / Departure

In the afternoon transfer to the International airport time to board the flight for onward destination.
