General Information

Best time to visit: mid September to mid December and resumes from mid March to mid June.

Culture: The culture of Darjeeling is quite diverse apart from the major Hindu religious festivals like Diwali, Christmas, Dussera, Holi, Ram Navami etc.

Food: Momo, Thukpa, Phagshapa, Sael Roti, Niguru with Churpi, Gundruk, Chang (Thomba) etc.

Highlights: Mirik, Ghoom monastery, Rock Garden, Tiger Hill, Senchal Lake etc.

How to Reach

By Air: Bagdogra is the nearest airport located at the distance of around 90 kms from Darjeeling. From here regular taxis and cabs runs that make the accessibility much easier and comfortable.

By Train: Darjeeling is well connected by the railways from all the important cities and town of India. The Northern Railway connects Darjeeling and the nearest railhead is NJP New Jalpaiguri.

By Road: Travelling by road is one of the easiest and more convenient to reach Darjeeling.

Itinerary

Duration: 6 Days/5 Night

Places to visit: New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling - Gangtok

Day 1: (Arrive New Jalpaiguri)

On the arrival at the New Jalpaiguri you will drive you to Darjeeling, which will take 3 hrs to reach. You will be accompanied to the hotel that has been booked in advance. Overnight stay at Darjeeling hotel.

Day 2: (Darjeeling)

After breakfast, visit to some of the most popular places of Darjeeling is famous for Tea Gardens, so we will start the tour from these Gardens, followed by tour of Toy trains, Chow Rasta, Shopping Malls etc. Afternoon we will visit to Rock Garden & Ganga Maya Lake. Return back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: (Darjeeling)

Early morning visit Tiger-hill to view the sunrise over Kanchenjunga peak which provides one of the best views of the surroundings. After breakfast visit to Batasia Loop, Budhist Monastry and other popular places. Return back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: (Darjeeling- Gangtok)

After breakfast check-out from the hotel and proceed to Gangtok. Visit to some of the most famous places of Gangtok including Natural History Museum and Tenzing & Gombu Rock. Return back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: (Gangtok)

After breakfast, visit Rumtek Monastry, the largest monastery on the eastern side of Himalayas. Yumthang Valley is also known as the valley of flowers. Return back to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: (Gangtok-Departure)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to the Bagdogra airport for your own destination.
