Panna National Park

Panna National Park-home of wild life species is situated in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, at a distance of around 57 km from Khajuraho. It is a region which is famous for its diamond industry. This park is known worldwide for its wild cats, tigers, deer and antelope. We can say this park a good home for tigers. This park is recognized as an exciting destination on all over the India. It is extended over an area of 543 Sq km along the banks of river Ken. The river Ken passes through the park adding to its scenic beauty. The park has a lush green haven with cascading waterfalls during the monsoons. Panna has one of the most pristine, quiet and beautiful of India’s wilderness areas. It is the ideal place to feel the natural beauty. This park is one of the best regions. The Ministry of Tourism of India gave the award of Excellence as the best maintained national park of India in 2007 to the Panna National Park.

General Information

Best time to visit: January to May and October to June

Flora: Saja, Salai, Tendu, Achar, Kullu, Seja, Aonla ,Mahua, Bel etc.

Some important Fauna are as follows:

Reptiles: Snake, Lizard etc.

Mammals: Tiger, Panther, Sambhar, Blue, Bull, Antelope, Chinkara, Bear, SpottedDear, Wolf, Wilddog, Jackal, Monkey etc.

Birds: Headed Goose, Honey Buzzard, King Vulture and Blossom - headed Parakeet, white necked stroke etc.

How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport is Khajuraho. Jet Airways flies from Delhi to Khajuraho via Varanasi. To reach Khajuraho from other major cities, fly to Varanasi and catch a connecting flight from there.

By Rail: Satna is the nearest railway station. It is a major railway hub and is connected to many places in central and western India. Daily trains connecting Delhi to Satna include the Mahakoshal Exp. & NDLS Rewa Exp. While other daily trains from Mumbai is Kamayani Exp. Mahanagari Exp., Rajendra Ngr. Exp, Kolkata Mail, Exp. Gorakhpur Exp.

By Bus: The nearest bus stand is Panna connected to Khajuraho and many other places in Madhya Pradesh. Madla is a good transport centre. To reach by road from Delhi, take the NH2 to Agra, NH3 to Gwalior, and NH75 to Panna via Jhansi, Bamitha and Madla.

Durations: 03 Days/02 Nights

Place to Visit: Delhi - Satna - Panna - Delhi

Day 01: Delhi - Satna

At the afternoon transfers to the railway station to going for Satna. Stay Overnight on board.

Day 02: Satna - Panna National Park

Our weekend package is on on arrival at Satna railway station; you meet with our representative and transfer to the wildlife resorts. All day you travel safari to the national park for wildlife viewing. Stay Overnight at resort.

Day 03: Panna National Park - Delhi

In morning and afternoon you travel safari to the national park for wildlife viewing and you also visit some important place of Panna. After that in the evening you transfer to the railway station to board the train for Delhi.
