Flora: Red flowers of the Kankara and the yellow blooms of Khalsi are more founded in the Sundarbans wildlife sanctuary. The large floral population in Sunderbans consists of trees like Genwa, Dhundal, Passur, Garjan and Kankara. Apart from these trees, the tall and wide Goran trees cover almost the entire region.
Some important Fauna are as follows:
Mammals: Bengal tigers, Chital Deer, Rhesus Monkey, egrets, purple heron.
Birds: Osprey, Pallas's fish eagle, white-bellied sea eagle, grey-headed fishing eagle, peregrine falcon, Oriential hobby, northern eagle owl and brown fish owl, black-necked stork, greater adjutant stork, white ibis, swamp francolin, white-collared kingfisher, black-capped kingfisher and brown-winged kingfisher.
Reptile: Sunderbans Wildlife Sanctuary provides important habitat for a variety of reptiles including river terrapin, Olive Ridley, estuarine crocodile, monitor lizard, water monitor and Indian python, King Cobra, Rock Python and Water Monitor.
