Flora: Bombax ceiba, Litsaea polyantha, Dalbergia sisoo, Sterculia villosa, Trewia nudiflora, Zizypphus jujuba, etc. The notable aquatic plant species are Andropogon spp., Ipomea reptans, Enhydra flushians and the non aquatic species are Phragmites karka, Arundo donax, Imperata cylindrical, Saccarum spp. etc.
Some important Fauna are as follows:
Mammals: Horned Rhinoceros and other species such as the Royal Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris), Asiatic elephant, hog deer, wild boar, civets, leopards, hare and porcupines, Wild Elephants, Water Buffaloes, Pigmy Hogs.
Birds: Orang National Park in Assam is the most important habitat of the Bengal florican. Other important birds are Spot-billed Pelican, Black-necked Stork, Greater Adjutant Stork, Lesser Adjutant, Rudy Shelduck, Gadwall, Mallard, Pintail, Pallas's Fishing Eagle and a number of others including forest and grassland birds.
Reptile: Among reptiles, turtles like Lissemys punctata, Kachuga tecta, and among snakes pythons and cobras are known to frequent these in this area.
