Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary

The Bandipur wildlife Sanctuary is the best managed national park which is located in southern India, Karnataka. The Bandipur National Park is at a distance of about 80 Km from Mysore and Ooty and 215 km from Bangalore. This national park is the habitat of different types of mammals, birds, fish and trees. It was created in the 1930s from the local Maharaja Voodiyar’s hunting lands, and named Venugopal Wildlife Park. This is one of the fabulous wildlife sanctuaries of the world where thousands of international and national people come to see the amazing flora & fauna. The forest department maintains lodges, rest houses and cottages at reasonable price.

Best time to visit: March - July and September - November

Flora: The variety feeds on fruits of a large variety of fruit trees including a number of species of Ficus.
