Maharashtra is the most visited place of western India. There several tourist spots which are attracted the tourists each year that are sea beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, hilly places and holy places. The beaches of the Maharashtra are one of the stunning & striking places where mostly newly married couples come to enjoy here and make their trip memorable. Mostly all of the beaches are conveniently connected to Mumbai, so access is not a problem. The coastal climate of Maharashtra makes travelling pleasant all round the year.

Juhu Beach

It is one of the largest and famous beach of the Maharashtra beaches which is located 18-km north of the city centre of Mumbai. You can take the pleasure of horse and donkey rides, dancing monkeys, acrobats, cricket matches, toy sellers and every other type of Indian beach entertainment. It is famous for food points. Bhelpuri and Kulfi are mostly eaten by tourists. It's also a favorite shooting site among the filmmakers as many film shootings are also held over here. It is not a very good place to swim.

Bassein Beach

This beach is situated in the Bassein which is 60 kilometers from the Mumbai. This place is famous for splendid beach and historical places where several tourists come to visit here. The religious significance also attracts the visitors. The white sandy beaches, palm trees, green lush surroundings are naturally create a center of attention the tourists. Bassein is renowned for the several beautiful churches presenting Portuguese architectural style.

Dahanu Bordi Beach

This beach is located in the Thane district. It is the fresh, clean and windy beach where thousands of tourists come to visit and enjoy here. This is about 17 kilometers long beach. Dahanu is particularly famous for its fruit orchards. There are famous and beautiful temples. The pleasant climate makes your trip memorable and enjoyable.

How to Reach: The nearest airport is Mumbai which is 145 kilometers far from the Dahanu and nearest railway station is Gholwad which is 2 kilometers far from this beach.

Marve, Manori and Gorai Beach

The Marve and Manori are the splendid beaches of the Maharashtra. These beaches are located in north of Mumbai. The sunrises and sunsets here are enhanced by the hill ranges that frame the beach. Marve is the closest and quietest. Marve Beach is located in the Western Suburb of Malad in the city of Mumbai, India. There are some beautiful bungalows and upscale homes belonging to the city's wealthy used mainly as weekend getaways. Gorai and Manori, a little further away, are more crowded with travelers and are famous for all night beach parties. Marve is a quaint little fishing village, the nearest and the quietest of the three.

Murud Janjira Beach

Murud-Janjira is located near Alibagh, which is headquarter of Raigad district and 1.75 kilometers from Murud. It is one of the most popular and tempting beaches of Maharashtra. Watching the sun rises through the mountains to the east is a remarkable sight and when the sun rises, the silvery sands began to glow for the whole day. Sunset in the back ground of the luminous forts are also very tremendous. Murud Janjira is a very popular weekend destination and is definitely the pick of all the destinations in this region.

How to Reach: The nearest railway station is at Roha which is approximately an hour from this beach and nearest airport is Mumbai.

Mandwa Kihim Beach

This beach is located at 18 kilometers north of the Alibag and 120 kilometers from Mumbai. A clear atmosphere here gives a mind blowing view right up to the Gateway of India. Dr. Salim Ali's favorites hunt, which has abundant woods teeming with wild flowers, rare butterflies and birds is situate close to the beach. The other places nearby worth visiting are the Kobala Fort, towers of St. Barbara and Chaul. Chaul is about 15km from Alibag. It’s a historic place with remnants of Portuguese ruins, Buddhist caves, Hamam Khana, Church, Temples and a synagogue.

How to Reach: Nearest airport is in Mumbai. Nearest rail station is in Panvel which is about 85 km from Konkan Railways.

Shriwardhan Harihareshwar

Shriwardhan-Harihareshwar Beach is the two uncultivated beaches on the Konkan coastline. It is 200 kilometers far from the Mumbai. You can do several activities like boating, swimming, biking etc. The Bankot fort is the most visited place. It is located to the Bagmandala beach. This beach is also landmark by Kalbhairav-the Shiva Temple. Peshwa smarak and the Bankot fort are just 4 km away from the beach. The nature lover can come to visit here.

How to Reach: The nearest railway station is at Mangaon on Konkan Railways. Goregaon is at a distance of 60km via road. Nearest airport is at Mumbai which is 215km.

Ganapatipule Beach

This beach is very attracting beach of the Maharashtra along the Konkan coast and Ganapatipule is a small village. It is mainly famous for the Swayambhu Ganapati Temple and it is the prime attraction because it is the 400 years old. Jaigad fort is also the tourist destination. You can do several activities like boating, biking and fishing. There is lot of top most resorts which are provided all facilities to tourists.

How to Reach: The nearest airport is Pune which is 360 kilometers far from the Ganapati and Ratnagiri is the nearest railway station of the Ganapati Beach.

Velneshwar Beach

This beach is located at the Shastri River in north. The Velneshwar is the small village. Velneshwar beach offers an ideal escape into a land of calmness. The old Shiva temple is the famous and it attracts the visitors. You have several choices to water sports. You can get full enjoy with family and kids. This is also for new married couples. The green coconut palm grooves and rock free seawater make the beach so beautiful and attractive.

How to Reach: Nearest railway station is at Chiplun which is 370 kilometers from the Mumbai and the nearest airport is Mumbai.

Vengurla - Malvan Beach

This is the most visited tourist destibation of Maharashtra and it is situated in Sindhudurg district. The long stretch of white sands, and hills covered with cashew, coconut, jackfruit and mango groves are something by which the beach is identified. It is famous for Shri Devi Sateri temple and the Rameshwar temple. Sindhudurg and Padmagad are two famous forts of Malvan.

How to Reach: The nearest railway station is Kolhapur and Vengurala is 514 km absent from Mumbai and 200 km from Ratnagiri. Vengurla beach is about 5 kilo-meters away from Vengurla city.
