Karwar

Karwar is situated just 100 kilometers from Goa makes a good starting point. Major attractions of this place include the Sadashivgad Hill fort with a Durga temple, the unique Octagonal Church, and the 300 year old Venkataramana Temple.

How to Reach: The nearest airport is Dabolim (Goa). The closest railway station is located at Shirwad (6 km), on the Konkan Railway route.

Murudeshwar Beach

Murdeshwara is 386 kilometers from Bangalore/ 151 kilometers from Karwar. It is situated between Honnavar and Bhatkal, 1 kilometer off the National Highway is the scenic holy place of Murudeshwar. It is a popular picnic spot, having beautiful blue waters of the sea and the majestic mountains. Other attractions around this beach are the Murdeshwar temple, the Kanduka Giri and the fort of Tipu Sultan. Partake of the delicacies of coastal Karnataka, the mouth - watering sweets, spicy fish curries and a variety of rice calces. Savour the juicy fruits a wide variety of mangoes, jackfruit, cashew and bananas, which abound in this fertile land.

How to Reach: Murudeshwara station lies on the Konkan Railway. Some trains from Mumbai and Mangalore stop here. The nearest airport is Manglore.

Maravanthe Beach

It is 50 kilometers from Udupi. This is the famous and exclusive tourist destination. Maravanthe is 525 kilometers from Bangalore and 110 kilometers from Mangalore. It can be approached by road and rail from Bangalore and Mangalore. Dancing coconut groves and soft cool breeze add to the already perfect natural surroundings. The beach certainly deserves to be considered the second most beautiful natural beach in the world. It is just a boat ride away. Ottanane near Baindur is famous for its glorious sunset. Water sports and beach resorts promise an enjoyable holiday here.



Gokarna

It is 240 kilometer north of the Mangalore. The Gokarna beach is the unique and attractive beach of Karnataka. All of Gokarna's beaches remain pretty empty except for the many pilgrims who come to Gokarna for 'darshan' at the Shiv Temple. This is an ancient town in Karnataka, 3 hours of bus journey away from Goa. Gokarna is situated along the Karwar coast, in northern Karnataka. Lord Mahabaleshwara temple is the most popular temple here which is visited by thousands of devotees. This beach is popular of its distinct shape Om which is the spiritual symbol of Hindus. This is also called Om beach.

How to Reach: The nearest airport is Dabolim (Goa) and Konkam is the nearest railway station from Gokarna.

Bhatkal Beach

This is the famous beach of the Karnataka located at a distance of 16-km from Bhatkal and 126 kilometers from Karwar. The blue seas and majestic hills, temples attract the tourist. The place was the main port inside the sixteenth century throughout the Vijayanagar kingdom and was known for the two temples Jain Chandranath Basadi and Vijayanagar temple that are engraved with animal pictures. Murdeshwar temple, Kumta, Byndoor, Shirur, Jogfalls are the other tourist places during Bhatkal beach tour.
